June TBR

Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

So I started this as an audiobook because it was on Scribd and I’d heard fairly good things about it, but I wasn’t expecting much because contemporary romances aren’t usually my thing….well, let’s just say within half an hour of listening to it I was ordering the physical book off of Amazon with same-day shipping. So far this is one of the funniest things I have ever read and I cannot wait to finish it! Review definitely to come!

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

This one has been on my TBR for ages but I’ve never really gotten around to it. That is until the wonderful Piera Forde (check out here YouTube channel here), aka the person who first introduced me to Nevernight which is now a favourite of all time, announced she would be running a Red Rising series read-along. It is starting June 2 and she will spending two weeks on each book, so OF COURSE I’M IN!

Golden Son by Pierce Brown

Aaaaaaaaaaand that mean as soon as I am done Red Rising I will be jumping straight into Golden Son. Three cheers for series bingeing!

The Summer Tree by Guy Gavriel Kay

Proof I have a book problem: I went into my favourite bookstore the other day (it’s an indie sci-fi/fantasy place that is awesome) and found out this author, who has written a ton of fantasies, was going to be doing an event at the beginning of June, so obviously I bought a bind up of his most famous series so I could get it signed….yeah, well in my defence it features University of Toronto students so it was basically written about me, okay. Anyway, I hope to have the first book in the trilogy read before the event so I do not look like a complete dummy.

Lifelike by Jay Kristoff

Or should I say Lifel1k3? Yet another book that has been on my TBR forever, but I have purposely been waiting for the sequel to be released because I have heard that this book ends on a cliffhanger. So, with the release of Deviate coming on June 17, 2019 now is the time to get on this and I can’t wait!

The Red Scrolls of Magic by Cassandra Clare and Wesley Chu

As a fan of Magnus Bane and his relationship with Alec, I was rather excited when this book was announced. On top of this, it is available as an audiobook has been chosen as the June pick for the Booksplosion Book Club hosted by three prominent BookTubers. Fingers crossed for some cute Magnus and Alec scenes.

I Was Born for This by Alice Oseman

Between my half an hour commute walking to school and my monotonous everyday chores, I have a lot of time to listen to audiobooks. Normally this one wouldn’t have made my TBR but it was chosen as the June pick for the Bookmarked Book Club and was available on Scridb so I figured why not, I’m up for something new.
